It was a cold and foggy morning, and artist Rita Pacheco worked quickly to paint the old ranch house at Spooners Cove in Montaña de Oro. She was so fascinated with her subject matter that she didn’t even notice the gorgeous view of the sparkling turquoise ocean until it was too late.

Create your own masterpiece by filling in an already prepared original design by resident artist Jordan Hockett. The $10 fee includes all materials (but no instruction) and supports Studios’ essential arts services to local children and adults. The COLORbar is open through Sept. 30. Independence Day celebration raises $10,000 for local charities

Organizers of Paso Pops, this year’s patriotic-themed concert and Independence Day celebration complete with fireworks sponsored by the Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles, delivered four checks to local non-profit youth arts programs totaling $10,000. The funds were raised from the 3,000 locals who attended the first-ever Paso Pops event on July 4th.
