Paso Robles has a new mural. It was painted Monday on a building on the west side of Spring Street, just south of Founders Community Bank.

The painting is visible from Spring Street as one approaches 12th Street. The mural is a collaboration between Studios on the Park and Sognar, a Denver-based collective which produces murals all over the country.

During a recent trip to Denver, Sasha Irving of Studios on the Park spotted the group working on a mural and learned about their collective. Together, they developed the artwork for the Paso Robles mural.

The painting features a cow, a tractor, a grape cluster and the Acorn Building. On Sunday, Studios on the Park coordinated school children who volunteered to help paint the mural. Jason Graves said the students used Latex house paint, but Sognar painters crafted most of the detail with aerosol paint.

The mural may be the first of several to adorn buildings in downtown Paso Robles
