Expectations

What Are The Expectations For Participating Artists?

Studios on the Park Artists
In addition to paying monthly rent, licensee Artists are expected to open their studios to the public and to provide an educational and cultural experience to the public. Artists will display and sell their work made in their studios. They should set as personal goals the achievement of growth and excellence in their field and a contribution to the professional advancement of the Studios on the Park as a whole.

To make this unique facility work and to preserve a feeling of community among the Artists, essential Policies have been established. The “House Policies” adopted by the Board of Directors of Studios on the Park and are binding upon all Artists. For a copy of the House Policies, please contact Sasha Irving.

Sales by rent paying Studios Artists within their studios are commission free. Sales in public areas are subject to a 15% commission. Credit card transactions through the Studios on the Park account require an additional 5% fee paid for by the selling artist. Artists with individual accounts are not subject to this fee.

Studios on the Park Substitutes, Associates, and Assistants
Involvement as Studios on the Park Substitutes, Associates, and Assistants is contingent upon agreement to the Studios 20-20 Policy. That is, for every quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1) Substitute, Associate, and Assistant artists are expected to pay $20 to Studios on the Park as a participation fee as well as to provide 20 hours in studio coverage (working in the studio of an absent Studios on the Park Artist). Hours may also be earned through scheduled atrium demonstrations to the public. This policy is designed to ensure an enhanced level of commitment to the Studios on the Park organization.

Sales of artwork by Substitutes, Associates, and Assistants within a studio or in a window, front alcove, atrium or hallway display are subject to a 30% commission payable to Studios on the Park plus an additional 5% fee paid in the case of a credit card transaction.
