Studios on the Park Artists

Studios on the Park Artists (Artists) are defined by their passion and commitment not only to their art, but also to the mission and vision of Studios on the Park. They are more than just accomplished, professional artists!

Artists are masters in their chosen mediums, continually striving to learn more, invent more, and create more. Artists are educators to the public about their mediums, their techniques, and the creative process in general. Artists are facilitators by encouraging and assisting beginning and practicing artists in their growth. They inspire those around them, are team players in a group of artists, and lead by welcoming new and fresh ideas. Artists are professionals, who inspire others to create, explore, educate, and share.

Studios on the Park Substitutes

Substitutes are equivalent in standing to all Artists. However, Substitutes do not have their own designated studio. In agreement with an Artist, a Substitute may fully display and sell within a studio. On occasion, opportunities to display and sell will be provided to Substitutes in the Studios atrium.

Studios on the Park Associates

An Associate is a juried artist who shows great promise and has a strong body of work. The Artist /Associate relationship needs to be beneficial to both parties and work within the guidelines of Studios on the Park. Associates are encouraged to choose an Artist to work with on a continuing mentoring basis to help them with the study of their work and to grow their resumes. Under the direction of an Artist, an Associate may work on the premises but may not display on the walls inside a studio. Associates are permitted to sell their work from a bin with one bin permitted per Associate. On the days that the Associate is working in the Artist’s studio they may bring a finished painting to exhibit on an easel or counter to show the public what their completed work is like, if they do not have work hanging in the atrium. On occasion, Associates may have opportunities to display and sell in the Studios atrium. An Associate is expected to be conversant with all aspects of the Artist’s work in order to communicate with the public.

When an Associate is covering a studio for an artist the expectation is that the Associate work in the studio, and be available to the public as well as for the security of the Artists studio. Associates are expected to be on time when covering for an artist. Artists and Associates will decide the form of compensation: mentoring or cash payment.

Studios on the Park Assistants

An Assistant is an Artist-sponsored juried person who is capable and knowledgeable in a given medium and is able to demonstrate and/or explain the working process with expertise. Assistants may be used to help Artists to staff their studio in the event that a qualified Substitute or Associate is unavailable. Assistants may be paid primarily to sell artwork.
