Leave No Trace

March 1, 2018 - March 31, 2018
Atrium Gallery

"What does it mean to LEAVE NO TRACE?

The idea is simple. It’s based on a set of adaptive principles that promote outdoor conservation. The objective is to be more sustainable. As artists that capture and work in the environment we strive to be less impactful and we want our footprints to be less noticeable so future generations can enjoy how beautiful the natural world is.

Leave No Trace is a group photography exhibit showcasing photographers from different backgrounds. And although our styles vary we all respect the outdoors. With this exhibit we are want to spread awareness about the unspoken rules of “Leave No Trace.” For many these rules are simply disregarded or sometimes forgotten about. We all see it: the trash on our local beaches, the notorious dog bags left on hiking trails, the plastic bottle left behind in a National Park, watching people ignore “stay on trail” signs, amongst other issues – it is everywhere.

The Central Coast of California is a unique, and inspiring place. We are surrounded by so much beauty sometimes we take it for granted. This exhibit is meant to encourage all of us not only to get outside more but also to start asking questions about how to we can be less impactful in our way of life. Thank you for looking." - Richard Fusillo, Guest Curator
