Our Kids Art Smart program opens its classroom for a special Wednesday after-school art class! Young artists are invited to join us to make fun organic and geometric shape movement figures inspired by artist Keith Allen Haring (May 4, 1958 – February 16, 1990) whose pop art and graffiti-like work grew out of the New York City street culture of the 1980s.

There is no fee to participate in the class and all the materials are provided. Ages 5-12. Free.

To sign up, include the names and ages of your kids in an email to our Kids Art Smart Coordinator Michelle Rollins:

More About Keith Haring
Bridging the gap between the art world and the street, Haring rose to prominence in the early 1980s with his graffiti drawings made in the subways and on the sidewalks of New York City. He developed a distinct pop-graffiti aesthetic centered on fluid, bold outlines against a dense, rhythmic overspread of imagery like that of babies, barking dogs, flying saucers, hearts, and Mickey Mouse. By expressing universal concepts, using a primacy of line and directness of message, Haring was able to attract a wide audience and assure the accessibility and staying power of his imagery, which has become a universally recognized visual language of the 20th century.
