PRAA Drawing & Pastel for Kids

Join Joy Krull for her Drawing & Pastel for Kids classes in the Showroom this Fall. The cost of each session is $55 plus $10 materials fee. To register, call Kim Snyder at 805.450.3148.

About the Teacher
Joy Krull is a professional artist and art instructor for the Emeritus College at Cuesta Community College. She moved to the area in 2000 from Orange County where she taught at Saddleback College, Irvine Valley College, Coastline College and several adult education departments in that area. Joy works and teaches in a number of medias including oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor and drawing. She has been accepted and won awards in numerous exhibitions and has been accepted in a number of national competitions including “The Artist Magazine” and Winsor & Newton competitions. Since moving to Central California, she has also been accepted in local juried exhibitions. Joy studied painting with Robert E. Wood, Rex Brandt, Millard Sheets, George Post, Daniel Greene, Chen Chi and Ray Vinella.

 

Impressionist Sunflower Painting for Kids

Artist Anne Laddon teaches how to paint sunflowers like the Impressionists! In Part 1, draw and outline sunflowers from a still life set up in the classroom.  Then in Part 2 learn color mixing and painting with acrylics to complete your masterpiece!

 

Creative Clay Class for Kids

Part 1: Make a pinch pot, a coil pot and a nature bowl using leaves and seed pods to press into the clay for texture.
Part 2: Learn how to glaze your bisque fired pottery pieces.

Printmaking Youth Art Party

Experience the joy of printmaking in this fun youth art party! Participants learn about the classic printmaking technique of relief printing to produce multiple copies of the same image and then make their own prints using linoleum.

 

Plein Air Quick-Draw Walkabout Workshop

Explore historic downtown Paso Robles and your creativity on this unique walkabout workshop with pastelist Carol Timson Ball. Learn about the Plein Air tradition as well as how to quickly capture the unique shapes and colors of the Paso Robles landscape.

About the Teacher
After a long career in Graphic Design, Carol Timson Ball is excited to be working in the fine arts. Her preferred medium is dry pastel, using Wallis Pastel Paper mounted on foam board. If she is in the studio she uses her own photographs or sets up a still life. Carol loves color and the dynamics of light and shadow and how they play out in a painting.
