with Margot Silk Forrest and Destiny Carter
TBD Date in July 2012

In this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to use top-quality leather paints to transform ordinary shoes into wearable art for your feet! With the guidance of Margot Silk Forrest and Destiny Carter, authors of Sassy Feet! Paint, Embellish and LOVE Your Shoes (and Bags) you will create a pair of one-of-kind shoes of your own design using their palette of 26 colors of gleaming and metallic leather paints. You will also learn how to glue or stitch on embellishments and trim.
Margot and Destiny will bring numerous examples of shoes they have created, plus all the paints and other supplies you will need for painting your shoes and attaching embellishments.
Class fee is $50. A materials fee of $10, which includes a take-home set of four brushes used for painting leather, will be collected in class. SPECIAL "BRING-A-GIRLFRIEND" DISCOUNT: When two participants register together, the $10 materials fee will be waived for both.
Participants should bring TWO pairs of shoes or sandals to work on (the instructors will help you pick the pair best suited to painting) plus an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes. If you want, you may also bring embellishments to attach, or you can shop from the private Sassy Feet stash!
For ideas and inspiration, look at the shoes on Margot and Destiny’s blog or in their book, Sassy Feet! Paint, Embellish and LOVE Your Shoes (and Bags), which is available in their online store and in the San Luis Obispo County library system.
