PRAA Enhance Your Drawing Skills: Basic Perspective with WB Eckert

January 23: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Learning the principles of basic perspective will increase the accuracy of your work. Every object and scene around you (and in your imagination) is composed of three dimensional shapes. Learning how to draw these shapes in space convincingly will not only enhance your drawing skills, but will also give you confidence in portraying real-life scenes. This class lays out the basic principles of one and two point perspective in simple exercises so that you can understand how to construct convincing geometric shapes in your drawings. Please bring: 11"x14” drawing pad (minimum size), two #2B pencils, kneaded eraser, 18” straight edge or ruler. $45.

Pastelists are encouraged to join the Paso Robles Art Association's Pastel Guild for: show-and-tell of new materials and work-in-progress, possible exhibition sites, framer's deals, vendor's sales, workshops, competitions, pastel society newsletters, critiques and anything else connected to using pastels.

Digital artists Deb Hofstetter and Dean Crawford Jr. are starting the new year with big news: a partnership with fellow artist Deprise Brescia. An award-winning encaustic, acrylic and mixed media artist, Deprise joins Deb and Dean in Studio 4 at the Studios on the Park in Paso Robles.

In addition to celebrating their new partner, Deb and Dean have curated a collection of their country home and garden images for their January showcase.

COLORbar: "In The Clouds" & "Heavy Traffic" by Jordan Hockett

Experience watercolor painting with Studios on the Park's unique COLORbar. Create your own masterpiece by filling in already prepared original designs by resident artist Jordan Hockett. The $10 participation fee includes all materials (but no instruction) and supports Studios' essential arts services to local children and adults.
