All veterans and their families invited to join recognized fine art photographer and mobile device photography educator Michael V. Messina and explore creative ways to create personal expressions of art using the Smartphone (iOS & Android devices) and selected editing apps.

This three day, 12-hour workshop covers:
*Smartphone camera set-up and basics
*Fundamentals of composition and lighting
*Using the power of editing apps
*Exploring the concept of art and artistic voice
*Shooting with purpose & creating a concept for art exhibits
*B&W photography basics for the Smartphone
*Using HDR
*Writing an artist statement

About Michael V. Messina
Michael V. Messina is a recognized fine art photographer based out of Atascadero, CA who has studied photography with the San Francisco Academy of Art University where he developed a painterly and artistic style of photography that captures a range of creative themes and concepts inspired by the Renaissance, Baroque, and Pre-Raphaelite masters. He has exhibited his work internationally with over 20 exhibits currently to his credit. Michael is also a photography educator with a special passion for Mobile Device photography. He has taught photography as a teacher in both the Community College and workshop/tutoring arenas.

Prior to his transitioning to the world of being a fine art photographer, Michael spent the past 20 years as a community college teacher until his recent retirement; his first half of his adult working life was spent working in various Public Safety positions that included being an EMT, paramedic, firefighter, and hazardous materials specialist and instructor. Today Michael splits his time in retirement traveling around the world with camera in hand, continuing to work-part as a workshop and college photography teacher, doing volunteer work at his church, and enjoying both family and friends.
